Knowledge v Imagination

Albert Einstein said "Imagination is more powerful than knowledge because knowledge is limited but imagination encircles the globe" What is the difference between you and those you admire who are achieving great things? There isn't any major differences that cannot be learned or adopted. The use of our imagination in reaching any desirable outcome is a major contributor to a worthy aspiration or outcome. Many of the worlds most successful people in medicine, invention, discovery, business, sport, showbiz have all made mention of their use of this creative force. Thomas Eddison, Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, Nelson Mandela, Michael Jordan, Roger Bannister and countless others have been documented as stating how, why and when they have utilised the power of creative visualisation, that is to say using the imagination to create a desired picture of some future event. Thomas Eddison had a dark room where he went to allow his imagination to roam free, in a process which brought him many answers to assist in his incredible inventions. Andrew Carnegie would sit quietly on his bed in an upright position each night just before sleep using his imaginative powers to construct the day ahead.
I'm sure you will remember as a child, how you played with imaginary friends and sold imaginary groceries from your imaginary store or imagined you were the leader of the infantry about to bravely face the enemy. As we grow up we learn to embrace "reality", and our reliance on using imagination as a constructive and indeed necessary procedure for helping us create physical goals is pushed aside in favour of what we have learned, or now perceive to be real.
The imaginative process for goal setting takes little physical effort but takes time to master, simply because we have grown unaccustomed to it's alternative use. Practice does make perfect and in time it will once again become second nature to rely upon this rich source of creativity. Use your imagination to create your ideal scenario in relationships, career, finance, health and visit this imaginary scenario at least 3 times per day with one visit just before sleep. It will take some mental effort as your usual habits of thought will try to derail the process. Invite the use of all your senses into this imaginary scene and create the perfect picture with sounds, visuals and feelings. Your subconscious mind does not know the difference between real or imagined and will take you at your word in due course that this is real, bringing to you the physical manifestation of your desire.
Much of your life experience has been created this way, outside of your conscious awareness. Everything you see around you was once a thought. Everything.

External Non Sense

There was some doubt as to the exact date but Monday the 17th of January was named as the most depressing day of the year. It's a Monday, it's time for a reality check at the bank account after the Festive overspend, it's still dark and cold for most of the day. Now, I'm not too sure who conducted this survey or the countless previous ones and I don't know who was surveyed. As many of you know, I post many quotes and positive verse which I hope inspires and moves people to action. I noticed that many people contributed their own quotes which were upbeat and positive yesterday and many people mentioned "the depressing day" headline. I noted as the day went on and into the afternoon that more and more people started to take heed of the date and the effect it had on many of the posts thereafter was very noticeable.
This was a very clear indication of how the very great majority of people allow their reality to be affected by external influences and are only too willing to drop their awareness guard to adopt or buy into a created, non existant and very false state of mind which holds no truth for them. In so doing they have unwittingly given away their very own personal power in exchange for a structure which has no truth for them except the meaning they want to give it i.e "the most depressing day" "I must be as depressed and fed up as every one else".
There is no denying that there are life challenges and maybe money and career problems but they existed on Sunday as well as Tuesday. What I'm saying is this, that we attach meaning to everything, we perceive things as we are.
You get to decide how you feel at any time and in any given situation or circumstance, it's that simple. Nothing, and I mean nothing, has any power over you unless you accept it. Or as Og Mandino said
"Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it"

As you think........

Dr Joseph Murphy states in his highly acclaimed book “The power of your subconscious mind" that " the world within creates the world without". So whatever is impressed upon the subconscious mind and dropped into its realm by conscious reasoning or repetitive self talk, whether it be truth or not, and thoughts in alignment with our beliefs, are stored and utilised in our everyday experience of life. Events, conditions and acts are produced by our subconscious mind in reaction to our thoughts." In other words we see things not as they are but as we are" ( Anais Nin). Beliefs as such are a perspective, a window through which we view the world uniquely, rightly or wrongly.
We are constantly processing thought; around 2 billion pieces of information are processed by our senses every second, 95% of it outside our conscious awareness and most of this goes unchallenged. It's at this point we can raise awareness by providing a challenge, should any thoughts be disempowering. Our subconscious is extremely sensitive to the thoughts and images we habitually entertain in our conscious mind and our beliefs are built here in accordance with these predominant thoughts. With this in mind it is of great
importance that we feed ourselves good "mindfood" As our subconscious takes us literally at our word it is wise to use affirming supportive language and encourage harmonious life ward thoughts.
For example, should you nurture predominant thoughts of lack or poverty in your conscious mind this will be played out in the physical realm as effect born of your desire to honour the subconscious belief, as would the opposite be true if you had thoughts of wealth and abundance.
By watching and looking at our thoughts, that is to say, raising our awareness of our conscious thought by listening in to our self talk and being vigilant in what and who we listen to and who we spend our time with, we can support or challenge the effectiveness of our beliefs "Change your thoughts, and you change your destiny" says Joseph Murphy. And as Wayne Dyer challenges "Taking charge of yourself begins with awareness".
